What's Time to a Pig?

時間對豬有什么意義？

One day, a visitor from the city came to a small rural area to drive around the country roads, see how the farms looked, and perhaps to see how farmers earned their living. The city man saw a farmer in his yard, holding a pig up in his hands, and lifting it so that the pig could eat apples from an apple tree. The city man said to the farmer, "I see that your pig likes apples, but isn't that quite a waste of time?" The farmer replied, 'What's time to a pig?"

一天，一個城市里的游客來到一個小鄉(xiāng)村，在鄉(xiāng)間路上開著車，想看看農(nóng)莊是什么樣子，種田農(nóng)夫怎樣過日子。這位城里人看見一位農(nóng)夫在庭院里，手中抱著一頭豬，并把它舉得高高的，好讓它能夠吃到樹上的蘋果。城里人對農(nóng)夫說：“我知道你的豬挺喜歡吃蘋果的，但是這不是很浪費時間嗎？‘那位農(nóng)夫回答說：“時間對豬有什么意義？”

Buy a Parrot

傳教士買鸚鵡

A preacher is buying a parrot.

一個傳教士在買鸚鵡。

"Are you sure it doesn't scream, yell, or swear?" asked the preacher.

“你確信它不會尖叫、大叫或詛咒別人嗎？”傳教士問。

"Oh, absolutely. It's a religious parrot." The storekeeper assures him.

“哦，絕對不會。它是一只虔誠的鸚鵡?！钡曛鞅ＷC說。

"Do you see those strings on his legs? When you pull on the right one, he recites the lord's prayer, and when you pull on the left he recites the 23rd Psalm."

“你看見它腿上的細繩了嗎？當你拉動右邊的這根，它會背誦天主經(jīng)，當你拉動左邊的那根，它會背誦贊美詩?！?/div>

"Wonderful!" says the preacher, "but what happens if you pull on both strings?"

“太棒了！”傳教士說?！暗侨绻彝瑫r拉動兩根繩子，會發(fā)生什么呢？”

"I fall off my perch, you stupid fool!" screeched the parrot.

“我會從架子上掉下來的，你這個笨蛋！”鸚鵡尖聲道。
