京廣高鐵通車,大大縮短兩地間的行車時間。
World’s longest high-speed train line opens
It used to take 20 hours to travel by train from Beijing to Guangzhou. But since December 26, the travel time has been cut to eight hours—as the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed rail line opened.
過去,從北京到廣州的火車旅程需要20個小時,但是從12月26日開始,由于京廣高速鐵路的開通,這段時間將縮短到8個小時。
Two trains left stations in Beijing and Guangzhou at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., respectively, to mark the opening of the 2,298-km line.
兩輛火車分別于9時和10時停靠于北京站和廣州站,見證這段2,298公里的鐵路線的啟動儀式。
The rail line runs through over half of China. It is the longest high-speed rail line in the world. It takes China a step closer to building its massive railway network.
這條鐵路線途徑大半個中國,它是全世界最長的高速鐵路線路。這也加快了中國構(gòu)建中國鐵路網(wǎng)的步伐。
A total of 155 pairs of trains will run on the line every day at an average speed of 300 km per hour. Different schedules have been made for weekends and the busiest travel times, according to the Ministry of Railways (鐵道部).
每天總共會有155組列車以平均300公里/小時的速度行駛在這條鐵路上。根據(jù)鐵道部的消息,針對周末及高峰期的不同時刻表也已經(jīng)制定。
The new line has a series of measures in place to make sure it’s safe. Safety when traveling by high-speed rail has been a big concern. A train crash near the city of Wenzhou left 40 people dead in July 2011.
這條新鐵路有一系列的措施來保證其安全性,高速列車的安全性已被認(rèn)定是重大問題,2011年7月溫州動車碰撞事件造成40人死亡。
The measures include increasing maintenance for equipment and improving the control system to try to solve possible problems, according to Sun Shuli, a chief engineer behind some designs of the new line.
這條新鐵路的主要工程師之一孫樹禮說,這些措施包括增加對設(shè)備的維修,提升控制系統(tǒng)以解決可能發(fā)生的問題。
The old Beijing-Guangzhou line will still be in use. There will be 183 pairs of trains running daily on the line.
原先的京廣鐵路仍會繼續(xù)運營,每天會有183組列車行駛于這條鐵路上。
A second-class seat on the new high-speed line costs 865 yuan while a sleeper on the old line sells for around 430 yuan.
新高鐵線路的二等車座需要花費865元而舊線路的臥鋪票售價430元。
