The State Council has revealed a new package of pilot programs to further reform China's education system. The newly announced schemes cover various areas, ranging from early education to education investment.

Ten specific tasks have been highlighted, including perfecting the pre-school education system, guaranteeing balanced coverage of compulsory education, promoting quality-oriented education and reducing excessive study burdens.

New ways will be explored to establish a modern vocational education system. And talent-nurturing methods will be diversified. Higher education institutions will be required to optimize their management and academic environment. Private education promotion, faculty management, and education funding mechanisms are also covered as targets to accomplish.
