The death toll in a school bus accident that occurred on Wednesday morning in the northwest province of Gansu has risen to 20 following the death of one child later Wednesday.

The accident happened around 9:40 a.m. in Yulinzi township of Zhengning county, according to a statement from the bureau. The statement said five people died at the scene, including four children and their bus driver, while 15 others, their teacher included, were confirmed dead by the afternoon.
據(jù)悉，事故于當(dāng)日（16日）早9時(shí)40分發(fā)生于甘肅省慶陽(yáng)市正寧縣榆林子鎮(zhèn)。包括四名孩童和校車(chē)司機(jī)在內(nèi)的5人當(dāng)場(chǎng)死亡，其余15人于當(dāng)日下午被證實(shí)死亡。

The statement said another 44 children were injured in the accident and have been hospitalized. Twelve of the injured are in a serious condition.
據(jù)報(bào)道，校車(chē)上的其余44名受傷的兒童已被送往醫(yī)院接受治療。其中12人傷勢(shì)較重。

The truck was carrying coal, the statement said.
事故發(fā)生時(shí)肇事卡車(chē)正在運(yùn)煤。

The bureau has blamed overloading for the accident, stating that the bus -- a van with nine seats -- was carrying 64 people.
