Adele's going to need a deeper trophy chest.

The singer took home two honors at the Ivor Novello Awards, a British songwriting-centric ceremony that dubbed her songwriter of the year. During her acceptance speech, Adele credited tough reviews of her debut album, "19" with inspiring a stronger effort on "21."

"The main thing was the songs weren't as good as my voice," she said. "And I took that on board and now I'm winning songwriter of the year."

Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" was also named the most performed work of 2011, though she fell short of a Grammys-style sweep: PJ Harvey's "Let England Shake" topped her in the album category, while Ed Sheeran's "The A-Team" won best song honors for music and lyrics.

Among the ceremony's other honorees were Take That, honored for their contributing to British music, while newcomer Lana Del Rey and co-writer Justin Parker took home best contemporary song for "Video Games."

The 57-year-old annual awards ceremony is voted on by a pool of songwriters and composers.
