在2010年第82屆奧斯卡上，男主角、男配角都有獲提名的《成事在人》是一部感人的勵志傳記片，電影的主人翁是南非前總統(tǒng)曼德拉，故事描寫了他在出獄之后如何借以橄欖球世界杯的契機，將當時具有強烈種族分裂的南非共和國人民團結起來的故事。劇情中提到了曼德拉總統(tǒng)在監(jiān)獄期間讀到的一首英文短詩，給了他莫大的觸動。這首詩就是來自英國詩人William Ernest Henley的作品，而電影片名Invictus正是取自這首短詩。男主角摩根·弗里曼無論是扮相，還是個人魅力，都與曼德拉本人頗為接近，而影片中這首詩歌的吟誦部分更是一氣呵成，配合亦真亦幻的畫面，感人至深。
