你想日后給這位新結(jié)識(shí)的朋友打電話(huà)。你問(wèn)他,是否介意你以后打電話(huà)給他:

Do you mind if I call you later?

別人請(qǐng)你跳舞你不想跳。你有禮貌地告訴他,你不想跳,請(qǐng)他不要介意:

Do you mind if we don't dance?

夜深了,你征得丈夫同意你遲睡一會(huì)兒,就問(wèn)他,是否介意你晚睡:

Would you mind if I stay up late?

有女士在場(chǎng),吸煙者應(yīng)征得女士的同意。你可以問(wèn)她,介不介意你在這里抽煙:

Do you mind if I smoke here?

你想讓朋友等你,就請(qǐng)求他說(shuō),可不可以在此等一下:

Would you mind if I keep you waiting here?

你不希望有人在辦公室里打私人電話(huà),就婉轉(zhuǎn)地說(shuō):

Would you mind not making the private call in the office please?

同事要出去郵信,你客氣地請(qǐng)求他為你郵一封,就說(shuō):

Do you mind mailing the letter for me?

你想借用朋友的自行車(chē),你就問(wèn)他,介不介意你用他的自行車(chē):

注:

"Do you mind…"與"Would you mind…"是請(qǐng)求別人幫忙時(shí)的客套用語(yǔ),意為:“可否請(qǐng)您……”,“……您不會(huì)介意吧”;或自己要做什么而請(qǐng)求對(duì)方諒解的用語(yǔ),意為“我……可以嗎?”
