Q: On December 15, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conducted a meeting of the Board of Governors and adopted a new resolution on the Iranian nuclear issue. What is your comment?

答：中方歡迎國(guó)際原子能機(jī)構(gòu)特別理事會(huì)15日通過(guò)決議，結(jié)束審議伊朗核計(jì)劃可能的軍事層面相關(guān)問(wèn)題。這將有利于推動(dòng)伊核全面協(xié)議順利起步執(zhí)行。中方贊賞國(guó)際原子能機(jī)構(gòu)和伊朗為解決該問(wèn)題所作的努力。
A: China welcomes the adoption of a resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors on December 15 which will close investigations into possible military dimensions to the Iranian nuclear program and pave the way for the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). China commends the efforts made by the IAEA and Iran for the settlement of the issue.

當(dāng)前，全面協(xié)議執(zhí)行準(zhǔn)備工作總體進(jìn)展順利，六國(guó)與伊方都以實(shí)際行動(dòng)體現(xiàn)了對(duì)協(xié)議的政治支持。中方愿與其他各方一道，堅(jiān)持按照全面協(xié)議辦事，加緊推進(jìn)各項(xiàng)準(zhǔn)備工作，推動(dòng)協(xié)議“執(zhí)行日”早日到來(lái)。
The preparatory work for implementing the JCPOA is going well as P5+1 and Iran have taken concrete actions to show their political support. The Chinese side stands ready to work with the other parties, act in strict accordance with the JCPOA, and speed up all preparatory work so that the Implementation Day can come at an early date.

Q: It is reported that the 3rd foreign ministers’ meeting on Syria will be held in New York on December 18. Will China attend the meeting? What is China’s expectation for the meeting?

答：中方歡迎并支持舉行敘利亞國(guó)際支持小組第三次外長(zhǎng)會(huì)。中方作為國(guó)際支持小組成員將積極與會(huì)。中方認(rèn)為，此次會(huì)議的目標(biāo)應(yīng)是在前兩次外長(zhǎng)會(huì)基礎(chǔ)上取得更加積極、務(wù)實(shí)的成果，重點(diǎn)就啟動(dòng)敘利亞政府同反對(duì)派政治對(duì)話和全國(guó)?；鸢才诺汝P(guān)鍵問(wèn)題進(jìn)一步凝聚共識(shí)，推動(dòng)敘利亞政治進(jìn)程往前邁進(jìn)。中方愿同各方一道，共同推動(dòng)政治解決敘利亞問(wèn)題。
A: China welcomes and supports the 3rd foreign ministers’ meeting of the International Syria Support Group (ISSG). As a member of the ISSG, China will actively participate in the meeting. In our view, the goal of the meeting is to achieve more positive and practical results based on the outcomes of the previous two foreign ministers’ meetings. The focus is to build up consensus on major issues like the launch of political dialogue between the Syrian government and the opposition as well as the national ceasefire arrangements so as to move forward Syria’s political process. China stands ready to work with all parties to contribute to the political settlement of the Syrian issue.

Q: The BBC reported that China’s construction activities on relevant islands and reefs in the South China Sea have damaged marine ecological environment. What is China’s response?

答：有關(guān)報(bào)道具有嚴(yán)重的偏向性和誤導(dǎo)性。南沙群島是中國(guó)領(lǐng)土。中國(guó)比任何國(guó)家都更關(guān)心相關(guān)島礁和海域的生態(tài)環(huán)境保護(hù)。中方島礁建設(shè)工程是經(jīng)過(guò)科學(xué)評(píng)估和論證的，堅(jiān)持建設(shè)和保護(hù)并重，充分考慮了生態(tài)環(huán)境和漁業(yè)保護(hù)等問(wèn)題，在施工過(guò)程中嚴(yán)格執(zhí)行環(huán)保標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和要求，并采取了許多有力措施保護(hù)生態(tài)環(huán)境。
A: The relevant report is severely biased and misleading. The Nansha Islands are China’s territory. China cares about ecological protection of relevant islands, reefs and waters more than anyone. China has gone through scientific evaluation and argumentation before undertaking the construction on the islands and reefs. Placing equal emphasis on construction and protection, China has taken into full account issues like ecological environment and fishery protection, strictly followed environmental standards and requirements during construction, and adopted many effective measures to protect ecological environment.
