近日，山東單縣縣委決定對單縣一中教師劉民給予其開除黨籍處分，同時，單縣人事局對劉民給予行政降級處分。5 月 14 日，北京市民鄒志靜透露，10 年前她被人冒名上了大專，始作俑者正是她當年的班主任劉民，此事被輿論比做“京版羅彩霞”事件。事件公開后，劉民已被當地警方控制。

A teacher who allegedly helped a relative get into university by stealing the identity of one of his students has been expelled from the Party and demoted, an official said.

有官員表示，一名通過盜用學生的身份幫助自己親戚上大學的老師已被開出黨籍并受到降級處分。

An investigation led by a county official and a Party discipline official has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the identity theft, which went undetected for almost 10 years.

由當地縣政府和紀委官員帶領的調查組已經著手調查這一隱藏近十年的 “冒名頂替”事件背后相關情況。

上面的報道中，steal identity 和 identity theft 都是“盜用身份”或者“冒名頂替”的英文表達，只不過前者表示行為，而后者則指代這一罪名，那個“冒名頂替者”叫做 imposter。這里的 identity 包含如 ID card（身份證），driver's license（駕照）等可以證明一個人身份的所有信息。

基本上，imposter（冒名頂替者）都得小心翼翼地行為做事，而且要 sink one's identity（隱瞞自己的歷史），一旦不小心看到了自己曾經的歷史身份，還得堅決地解釋說 It's a false/mistaken identity（這個人不是我）。
