Scene of the Cream

A year ago, Strasbourg-based engineer and video games designer Nicolas Knepper quit his day job to become a photographer. He started to take professional promotional shots when his wife, winner of French Masterchef in 2011, opened a macaroon bakery.
在法國(guó)斯特拉斯堡，有一位名叫尼古拉斯·克內(nèi)珀的工程師兼視頻游戲設(shè)計(jì)師，一年前他辭去了自己的工作，改行成為了一名攝影師。他的妻子曾是2011年法國(guó)大廚比賽的冠軍，后來(lái)他的妻子開(kāi)了一家馬卡龍烘培店，于是他就開(kāi)始用自己的專業(yè)技術(shù)為妻子的烘培店拍攝宣傳照片。

“In the TV show they sell crystal meth, and we have these pastries covered in crystal sugar, so I built a story around that. The liquid being burned in the background is sugar.”
“在這部電視劇里主角賣的是冰毒，而我們店賣的是冰糖做原料的糕點(diǎn)。以這個(gè)創(chuàng)意為起點(diǎn)我編造了一個(gè)小故事。角色背后正在火上焙烤的是一小塊糖?！?/div>

“This one was really difficult to make – I wanted to get the same lighting effect as in the movie, and I spent a lot of time painting the figurine. I didn’t want it to look like a toy.”

“In France, little plastic macaroons are sometimes sold as jewels, so I made a champagne macaroon with gold leaf to make it look expensive, and I built the glass cabinet myself.”

“This is a traditional French cake you buy once a year, on 6 January. Inside there is a prize, and whoever gets it is a king. So here they’re digging for the hidden treasure.”
“法國(guó)有一個(gè)傳統(tǒng)，即每年1月6日要吃一種傳統(tǒng)蛋糕，在蛋糕里藏有獎(jiǎng)品，吃到獎(jiǎng)品的人就是這一年的國(guó)王。圖片中的這三個(gè)人就是在挖掘藏匿的寶藏。”

“That’s Jason from Friday the 13th. This is just a pun on ‘serial’ and ‘cereal’. I’ve also seen that in London there’s a shop called Cereal Killer that only sells cereal…”
“這幅圖中的小人就是《十三號(hào)星期五》中的殺手杰森。'連環(huán)殺手'與'麥飯殺手'諧音。我在倫敦曾經(jīng)看到過(guò)一家店名字叫‘麥飯殺手’，店里賣的就是谷物?！?/div>

“I call this ‘Revenge’ because usually it’s women who eat macaroons, so here the macaroon is eating a woman. I call it the Big White Macaroon.”
“我把這幅圖片稱為‘復(fù)仇’，因?yàn)橐话銇?lái)說(shuō)，是女人吃馬卡龍，而在這幅圖片里，馬卡龍要吃掉女人。我將它叫做大白鯊馬卡龍。”
