U.S. not to accept DPRK as nuclear-weapons state: spokeswoman

The United States says it will not accept North Korea as a nuclear-armed country.
A State Department spokesperson made the remarks hours after Pyongyang announced it had reactivated facilities to harvest plutonium.
She said Washington remains committed to the goal of the complete and verifiable denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in a peaceful manner through the six-party talks.

South Africa's ruling African National Congress has won a big victory in Wednesday's elections but fallen short of two-thirds majority in parliament.
The final results released Saturday showed the ANC garnered 66 percent of the votes.

Three people were killed on Saturday in a shooting incident in the southern U.S. state of Georgia.
