二、英語(yǔ)閱讀案例解析

1.大綱樣題(2006年 Text3)

That the seas are being overfished has been known for years.
What researchers such as Ransom Myers and Boris Worm have shown
is just how fast things are changing. They have looked at half a
century of data from fisheries around the world. Their methods do
not attempt to estimate the actual biomassof fish species in
particular parts of the ocean, but rather changes in that biomass
over time. According to their latest paper published in Nature, the
biomass of large predatorsin a new fishery is reduced on average by 80%
within 15 years of the start of exploitation. In some long-
fished areas, it has halved again since then.

【32】 We can infer from Dr Myers and Dr. Worm’s paper
that_____.(A)
A. the stock of large predators in some old fisheries has
reduced by 90%. 正確率:10.9%
B. there are only half as many fisheries as there were 15
years ago.
C. the catch sizes in new fisheries are only 20% of the
original amount.
D. the number of larger predators dropped faster in new
fisheries than in the old.

2.英語(yǔ)一 (2012年 Text1)

Come on -Everybody’s doing it. That whispered message, half
invitation and half forcing, is what most of us think of when we
hear the words peer pressure. It usually leads to no good-drinking, drugs
and casual sex. But in her new book Join the Club, Tina Rosenberg contends
that peer pressure can also be a positive force through what she calls the
social cure, in which organizations and officials use the
power of group dynamics to help individuals improve their
lives and possibly the word.

【21】 According to the first paragraph, peer pressure often
emerges as____.
A. a supplement to the social cure
B. a stimulus to group dynamics
C. an obstacle to school progress
D. a cause of undesirable bahaviors

3.大綱樣題(2004年 Text2)

Over the past century, all kinds of unfairness and
discrimination have been condemned or made illegal. But
one insidious form continues to thrive: alphabetism. This, for

【46】 What does the author intend to illustrate with AAA A
cars and Zodiac cars?
A. A kind of overlooked inequality.
B. A type of conspicuous bias.

【48】 The 4th paragraph suggests that

4.英語(yǔ)二(2014年 Text4)

But it is not just down to the government. While these
measures would be welcome in the short term, we must
face up to the fact that the existing £4.5bn programme
of grants to fund new affordable housing, set to expire in 2015, is
unlikely to be extended beyond then. The Labour party has
recently announced that it will retain a large part of the
coalition's spending plans if it returns to power. The
housing sector needs to accept that we are very unlikely to
ever return to the era of large-scale public grants. We need
to adjust to this changing climate.

【40】 The author believes that after 2015,the government
may______.( D )
A. implement more policies to support housing
B. review the need for large-scale public grants
C. renew the affordable housing grants programme
D. stop generous funding to the housing sector

5.英語(yǔ)一(2014年 Text2)

There are many reasons for this. One is the excessive costs
of a legal education. There is just one path for a lawyer in
most American states: a four-year undergraduate degree at
one of 200 law schools authorized by the American Bar
Association and an expensive preparation for the bar exam.
This leaves today’s average law-school graduate with
$100,000 of debt on top of undergraduate debts. Law-school
debt means that they have to work fearsomely hard.

【27】 Which of the following adds to the costs of legal
education in most American states? (C)
A. Higher tuition fees for undergraduate studies.
B. Admissions approval from the bar association.
C. Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in another major.正確率:14.7%
D. Receiving training by professional associations.

state regulators to operate past 2012. In 2006,the
state went a step further, requiring that any extension of
the plant’s license be subject to Vermont legislature‘s
approval. Then,too,the company went along.

【27】 By entering into the 2002 agreement,Entergy intended to______.(D)
A. obtain protection from Vermont regulators.
