范例1:
It’s a cliché that youth adults are becoming increasingly over-confident and selfish, compared with older generations. As a member of generation Y, I have to admit that it’s true, because I’ve witnessed many
arrogant interns in my seven-year working experience. But I do think we can’t accredit this to young people themselves.?
?
Just look around, we are actually perfectly capable of acting like this. Those young people learnt this from their parents or role models at an early age. Besides, our education system should shoulder the responsibility of improper behave of young adults. Many schools in China stick to a widely accepted principle – No Child Left Behind, which eliminate the
reality-affirming notion of failure. Therefore, students rarely experienced bitter failures in their school time. And I guess, that’s why they think they are capable of everything. Maybe we coddle them too much to protect them from failure, and they interpret that as personal success and capability.
范例2:
There is a lot of emphasis put on increasing the self-esteem of children. The generation grows up being told that everyone is a winner. In report cards, there are only two columns: meet expectation, and more effort needed; there is no fail grade. Many children grow up without facing real hardship. To them, hardship may mean not being able to get their hands on the latest technology
gadgets. As a result, their emotional intelligence did not get a chance to fully develop. They tend to be impatient, only wanting instant rewards without putting in the hard work. They may get stressed out easily, thus are more prone to being depressed.
