But after recent reports of ructions in their romance, Robert Pattinson and his Twilight co-star girlfriend seem determined to show they are getting on better than ever.

The couple were joined by a group of friends for lunch in the east Los Angeles enclave and seemed happy and as they soaked up the sunshine on Wednesday.

'They came in with some friends, two other girls and a guy,' an eyewitness told . 'They all seemed very happy. They were laughing and joking with each other.'

The source added that the famous couple were not shy about showing their affection for each other while inside the restaurant.

'Rob and Kristen were holding hands while they were ordering and then they all say down to eat,' the insider said. 'They talked about go-karting.'

Another eyewitness told that the couple were 'really happy and lovey-dovey' during their lunch.

'Kristen grabbed his arm, and they were walking and joking. She took some pictures of the friends they were with on her phone,' the source told the website. 'They seemed really together. Really relaxed.'
