One of the most helpful habits that I've recently picked up is to create a short to-do list at the start of every day. What I do is write just three tasks I have to tackle so that the list isn't overwhelming. With such a short list, the tasks take on a higher priority, which motivates me to get them done.

And when the day is over, throw out the list so that you can start fresh the next day. That way, you won't have to deal with a lingering to-do list that will never get done. Having a never-ending to-do list can start to weigh on you, so it's best to keep it short and sweet!
