11. Manage your money before it starts to manage you.
積極理財(cái),別反被金錢(qián)束縛。
Too many people buy things they don’t need with money they don’t have to impress people they don’t know. Don’t be one of them. Bottom line: It’s easier to find long-term wealth by needing and spending less, instead of making more. So spend less than you earn, and always go without until you have the cash in hand. Keep six months of your salary in an emergency savings account just in case you lose your job or have an emergency that prevents you from working for a prolonged period of time. And keep a few extra hundred dollars on hand for unexpected expenses, such as car and home repair.
很多人為了討好別人,會(huì)花過(guò)多的錢(qián)去買(mǎi)并不需要的東西。別做這種人。心中要有底線(xiàn):和“花得多賺得就多”相比,“日積月累能致富”更靠譜。所以,節(jié)儉生活,出門(mén)時(shí)能少帶錢(qián)就少帶。把6個(gè)月的薪水當(dāng)做“緊急賬戶(hù)”存起來(lái),以防突然被炒魷魚(yú),或遭遇某事而導(dǎo)致你在未來(lái)幾月內(nèi)無(wú)法工作賺錢(qián)。同時(shí)手頭也要有些現(xiàn)金儲(chǔ)蓄以備不時(shí)之需,比如修車(chē)、裝修房間之類(lèi)的。
12. Let the wrong people go.
對(duì)錯(cuò)誤的人放手。
You can try your hardest, you can do everything and say everything, but sometimes people just aren’t worth trying over anymore, and they aren’t worth worrying about. It’s important to know when to let go of someone who only brings you down. The moment someone tells you that you’re not good enough is the moment you know you’re better off than they are, and better off without them.

13. Appreciate your true friends, and return the favor.

A friend who understands your tears and troubles is far more valuable than a hundred friends who only show up for your smiles and joys. Because a true friend accepts who you truly are, and also helps you become who you are capable of being. Friendships like this require more than just finding the right person, they also require you to be the right person. When someone believes in you enough to lift you up, try not to let them down. True friendship is a sweet responsibility to be nurtured, not an opportunity to be exploited.

14. Do everything with a touch of kindness.

Whatever can be done, can be done more effectively when you add kindness. Whatever words are spoken, will always be more compelling when expressed with kindness. The kind deeds you exert in just one moment can have a positive impact that lasts a lifetime. Your days will be brighter and your years fuller when you add kindness to your purpose. Choose to be kind every day, and you’re truly choosing to live in a better world.
當(dāng)一件事被加上了善意,那么它就能完成得更好。當(dāng)一句話(huà)被加上了善意,就能變得更為動(dòng)聽(tīng)。有時(shí)候,一瞬間突發(fā)的善意能不經(jīng)意地帶來(lái)一輩子的良好影響。生命將從此變得更為光明,而你本人也能包含著友善去生活。請(qǐng)日行一善,這樣的話(huà),你就能生活在一個(gè)更美好的世界里。
15. Choose happiness.
選擇快樂(lè)。
If you can find joy in doing nothing, you can find it in everything. Realize that happiness and joy are not always the result of good things, oftentimes they are the cause of good things. There is nothing you need in order to be happy other than the choice to be. So let go of the worries you have for what may or may not come your way. Focus instead on the good things that you can give, create, inspire and choose to experience, right here, right now. Don’t allow the world to pull you down with its negativity. Choose to transform the world around you with your own positivity.

16. Learn to cope with anger effectively.
學(xué)會(huì)有效應(yīng)對(duì)憤怒。
When you’reinfuriated with someone else, take a few deep breaths, sit quietly, and think for a moment. Acknowledge the true source of your anger. Anger bleeds from the inside out. Remember that we need to fix ourselves first before we attempt to fix or influence others. Trying to change others is a common recipe for prolonging the suffering. Taking responsibility for changing yourself, and how you deal with the actions of others, is a recipe for growth, freedom, and happiness.

17. Accept some responsibility for the way others treat you.

Yes, on occasion you will run into someone who is downright wicked, but for the most part, others will look to you for direction on how you want to be treated. They will test you to see what is acceptable, and then treat you the way you let them treat you. Remember, you can’t control them, but you can control what you tolerate.
的確,我們時(shí)不時(shí)會(huì)遇到特別不講理的人。但除此之外的絕大多數(shù)人都是經(jīng)過(guò)試探你的表現(xiàn)后才決定如何對(duì)待你的。他們會(huì)挑戰(zhàn)你的底線(xiàn),并用你能接受的方式來(lái)對(duì)待你。記住,我們不能控制他人,但我們可以控制自己的底線(xiàn)。
18. Work on your inner beauty too.
除了外在美,內(nèi)在美也要重視。
Our outward acts are a manifestation of who we are on the inside. Let’s remind ourselves to love who we are from the inside out – to be pretty happy, handsomely kind, pretty smart, handsomely unique, pretty loving, handsomely lovable, pretty quirky, handsomely funny, pretty cool – and not just pretty and handsome.
有句話(huà)說(shuō)的是“相由心生”。要愛(ài)那個(gè)原本的自己,由內(nèi)而外,你不只有張帥氣或漂亮的皮囊,你有更多的東西,比如快樂(lè)、友善、聰慧、獨(dú)特、真摯、可愛(ài)、古靈精怪、有趣、酷!
19. Introduce a little variety into your routine.
給平淡生活一些多彩的變化。
Remember that the way you’ve always done it isn’t the only way. It’s unlikely that one of the things you’ll regret when you’re 70 is not having consumed enough beer in your 20s, or not having bought enough $6 lattes from Starbucks, or not having frequented the same night club for years. But the regret of missing out on opportunities is a real, toxic feeling. You’ve figured out drinking and going out. You’ve had enough lattes. It’s time to figure something else out. Every corner you turn or street you walk down has a new experience waiting for you. You just have to see the opportunity and be adventurous enough to run with it.
生活并不總是一成不變的。等到了70歲,你后悔的肯定不會(huì)是“20多歲沒(méi)喝夠啤酒”,或“星巴克的廉價(jià)拿鐵還沒(méi)買(mǎi)夠”,或“常去的那個(gè)小酒吧應(yīng)該更多去去”這類(lèi)。真正錯(cuò)失了一個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)能讓人心如刀割,喝酒、買(mǎi)咖啡、出去玩……這種事你早就做得夠多了?,F(xiàn)在是該找點(diǎn)新樂(lè)趣的時(shí)候了。每條街的轉(zhuǎn)角處,也許都有一個(gè)新機(jī)會(huì)、新體驗(yàn)等著你。你所需要做的,是抓住機(jī)會(huì),并勇敢地體驗(yàn)它。
20. Always keep in mind that life is somewhat unpredictable.
永遠(yuǎn)要記?。荷遣豢深A(yù)見(jiàn)的。
Some of the great moments in your life won’t necessarily be the things you do; they’ll be things that happen to you. That doesn’t mean you can’t take action to affect the outcome of your life. You have to take action, and you will. But don’t forget that on any day, you can step out the front door and your whole life can change in an instant – for better or worse. To an extent, the universe has a plan that’s always in motion. A butterfly flaps its wings and it starts to rain – it’s a scary thought, but it’s part of life’s cycle. All these little parts of the machine, constantly working – sometimes forcing you to struggle, and sometimes making sure you end up exactly in the right place at the right time.
生活中發(fā)生的一些重大事件,并不是我們根據(jù)平日所為能預(yù)料到的。有時(shí)它們就是突然發(fā)生了。但是這并不代表我們對(duì)生活就此束手無(wú)措。你需要采取行動(dòng)——是的,我知道你會(huì)這樣做。同時(shí)也請(qǐng)記住,一瞬間發(fā)生的事也許會(huì)徹底改變你的人生——無(wú)論越好或越壞??偟膩?lái)講,宇宙是永遠(yuǎn)在變動(dòng)中的。蝴蝶輕扇翅膀,也許就會(huì)帶來(lái)一場(chǎng)大雨——想想真恐怖,不過(guò),這就是生命輪回的一部分。就像機(jī)器的每個(gè)小零件,它們會(huì)一直迫使你前進(jìn)、掙扎,偶爾還會(huì)收獲恰到好處的驚喜。
