The monkey and the crocodile
猴子和鱷魚(yú)

Once, a crocodile (鱷魚(yú)) liked bananas. However, they only grew on trees and the crocodile could not reach them.
曾經(jīng)，有一只鱷魚(yú)喜歡吃香蕉。然而，香蕉是長(zhǎng)在樹(shù)上的，鱷魚(yú)夠不到。

A monkey watched the crocodile for some time and then said, “Allow me to get some bananas for you.”
一只猴子觀察了鱷魚(yú)很久，說(shuō)：“我給你拿一些香蕉吧?！?/div>

The crocodile ate most of the bananas, and took some home to his wife.
鱷魚(yú)吃了很多香蕉，拿了一些回家給他的妻子。

“If that monkey lives on bananas,” the crocodile’s wife said, “his liver (肝) must be very tasty. Try to ask him to visit us, and then we can have a good meal of monkey liver.”
鱷魚(yú)的妻子說(shuō)：“如果那只猴子靠香蕉為生，那么他的肝臟肯定很美味。請(qǐng)他來(lái)我們家，那么我們就可以享用他的肝臟了?！?/div>

The next day, the crocodile went back to the banana tree.
第二天，鱷魚(yú)回到了香蕉樹(shù)那兒。

“My wife is sick and she wants you to visit her,” the crocodile told the monkey.
鱷魚(yú)對(duì)猴子說(shuō)：“我的妻子生病了，希望你能夠去看望她?！?/div>

“All right,” the monkey said.
猴子說(shuō)：“好的?！?/div>

The crocodile then carried the monkey across the river to their home.
就這，鱷魚(yú)載著猴子穿過(guò)小河到他們家去。

“Tell me what your problem is,” the monkey said to her, “and I’ll suggest some medicine for you.”
猴子對(duì)她說(shuō)：“告訴我你生了什么病，那樣我可以給你推薦一點(diǎn)藥?！?/div>

“The only medicine I need,” she said, “is your liver.”
她說(shuō)：“我只需要一種藥那就是你的肝臟?！?/div>

Thinking quickly, the monkey said, “I left my liver in a banana tree. Would you like me to get it?”
猴子很快地想了一下，說(shuō)：“我把我的肝臟放在了香蕉樹(shù)上，你就一回去取一下嗎？”

The crocodile’s wife agreed that the monkey should go and get it, so her husband carried him back to the banana tree. Then the monkey climbed to the tree and disappeared.
鱷魚(yú)的妻子同意放猴子回去拿他的肝臟，所以她的丈夫載著猴子回到了香蕉樹(shù)。接著，猴子爬上了樹(shù)消失了。
