The curtain is falling on the 18th Shanghai TV Festival. Taking over is the Shanghai International Film Festival, now in its 15th year. With more than 300 domestic and foreign-produced films, the festival runs from June 16th to 24th. World-renowned French director Jean-Jacques Annaud is chairing the jury, followed by world-class filmmakers such as Luc Besson, Danny Boyle and Barry Levinson.

Woody Allen's latest work "To Rome With Love," starring Penelope Cruz is to premier Thursday at the LA Film Festival.

"To Rome With Love" stars an ensemble cast that includes Allen, Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Penlope Cruz, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Greta Gerwig and Ellen Page.
When asked if it’s difficult to work on a film with so many stories flowing from one plot line, Allen has a two-tiered answer.

Allen said, "One way it’s harder and in another way it’s easier. It’s harder because you’re keeping a lot of plates spinning at the same time, and it’s easier because the stories are shorter, and you don’t have to sustain the story for an hour and forty minutes, if you have to sustain one story for an hour and forty minutes, you need a lot of substance."

Allen won Oscars for his films "Manhattan" and "Annie Hall". He credited his latest film’s cast with making his job easy.
Allen said, "I’ve gotten great people, and they make me look good. I mean, that’s the thing, you hire Penelope Cruz, Ellen Page, or Alec Baldwin or Jesse, all these people, and they’re great, they were great before they met me, they’ll be great after they leave me, and I exploit them, and I look like a hero, but you know, that’s the trick."

Penelope Cruz has worked with the legendary filmmaker in the past. In this movie, she plays a spicy character "Anna."
Cruz said, "I love playing her, and the way I looked at this character is really with zero judgment, and when I read it, I felt like this woman really respects her job and her profession, and believes that she is extremely important for society, you know, the role that she has."

"To Rome With Love" opens in U.S. theaters on June 22.
