The Dario Argento 1977 horror thriller Suspiria has been set for a remake that will be directed by Pineapple Express helmer David Gordon Green from a script he wrote with Chris Gebert. The search is on for Suzie, the young protagonist who travels to Europe to attend a world renowned school. After a series of brutal murders, the young American student learns that the academy is a front for something way more sinister than education. The original had a surreal, psychedelic tone that involved the supernatural, witches and a whole lotta blood.

The remake is backed by Crime Scene Pictures, whose partners Adam Ripp and Rob Paris are joining forces with producers Francesco Melzi d’Eril (Hotel Rwanda) from Memo Films and Luca Guadagnino (I Am Love) under his First Sun film banner to produce and finance the remake. Rizal Risjad, Silvia Fendi and Philip Elway will executive produce and Lisa Muskat will co-produce. Wild Bunchwill sell foreign at Cannes in May and CAA will make the domestic distribution deal. Production begins in September.

“We love the style and energy of the original film – and David’s script brilliantly updates the world, presenting a rare opportunity to create an elegant, classic horror film,” Crime Scene partners Ripp and Paris said in a statement. They are in preproduction on the Joe Lynch-directed Kate Hudson-starrer Everly. Crime Scene is in post production on Gambit, the remake scripted by the Coen Brothers, with Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz, Alan Rickman and Stanley Tucci starring. Mike Lobell produced and CBS Films releases this fall.

1977年的經(jīng)典恐怖片《陰風(fēng)陣陣》是恐怖大師達(dá)里歐·阿基多的代表作，講述了一位年輕的美國(guó)芭蕾舞者Suzy Banyon，在德國(guó)的芭蕾舞名校所遭遇到的一系列恐怖事件，并最終促使她不得不選擇逃亡的故事。原版中濃烈絢爛的謀殺場(chǎng)景令人印象深刻，而大衛(wèi)·戈登·格林的翻盤(pán)版劇本已經(jīng)完成，據(jù)內(nèi)部人士透露，格林對(duì)原版的改動(dòng)非常大，但絕對(duì)震撼。之前有傳言稱曾與格林合作過(guò)《王子殿下》的奧斯卡影后娜塔莉·波特曼將出演女主角，目前官方仍未表態(tài)。

大衛(wèi)·戈登·格林以獨(dú)立電影起家，《喬治·華盛頓》、《雪天使》、《暗潮》等片在獨(dú)立電影圈口碑頗佳，近年來(lái)格林轉(zhuǎn)戰(zhàn)“爛仔”喜劇，包括《菠蘿快車(chē)》、《王子殿下》以及他與喬納·希爾最新合作的《保姆奇遇記》。
