Our second film series of 2012 focuses on individuals making a difference to defend the environment and protect their family. These films are just in time for Earth Day and focus on the individuals who speak up when there is an injustice. Why are there so many popular films on this topic? Because these stories are about heroes! It’s hard to stand up for what you believe in and have the courage to demand change. These films are about how one person can change the world.
2012 年的第二個電影系列關(guān)注于為保護(hù)環(huán)境和家人而努力的個人。在地球日到來之際，這些電影適時地介紹了這些面對不公正挺身而出的人們。為什么關(guān)于這個主題有如此多受歡迎的電影？因為它們講述的是關(guān)于英雄的故事！堅持自己的信仰并有勇氣要求變革是不容易做到的事情。而這些影片恰是描述一個小人物如何能改變世界。

Most of the films in the series are based on real stories and real heroes who put everything on the line to right a wrong. You’ll see a story of a woman murdered because she spoke out against safety hazards at a factory. You’ll see an unemployed single mother who takes down a company that is polluting the city’s water supply. What makes these individuals so brave to speak up when others won’t? Join us on Thursday nights and find out!
這個系列里的大多數(shù)電影都是根據(jù)真實(shí)事件改編的，講的是真正的英雄為了正確的事情孤注一擲去奮斗。你將會看到各種故事，譬如一位女性因抗議工廠安全危險而被殺害，一個失業(yè)的單身母親將一個污染城市水源的公司告倒，等等。當(dāng)大多數(shù)人沉默時，是什么能讓這些人勇于站出來發(fā)言？那就參加我們的電影夜來發(fā)現(xiàn)吧！

Films will be shown on Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM in the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General Shanghai (1376 Nanjing West Road, East Office Building, 5th Floor, Room 540). All films will be shown in English. Admission is FREE and open to the public.
