Director Alethea Jones has taken out top prize in this years Tropfest with her film Lemonade Stand

This years Tropfest commemorated the 20th anniversary of the short film festival and was judged by the likes of Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Geoffrey Rush and last years Tropfest winner Damon Gameau.

As reported by , Jones’s short film was enjoyed by the massive crowd gathered at the Domain which included actors such as Joel Edgerton, Tobey Maguire and director Baz Luhrmann.

In regards to the film itself, Lemonade Stand centers on a quirky family business standing definite against an overzealous by-the-book council employee.

When speaking about Lemonade Stand Tropfest Founder and Director, John Polson said,

“Lemonade Stand is an incredibly well made film and a favourite amongst the judges. There was intense discussion in the judging room, and some really interesting debates. Alethia should be very proud to have been selected by some of the industry’s greatest talent.”

“短片電影節(jié)是許多年輕人的電影夢(mèng)想開(kāi)始的地方，這也是它最吸引人之處。不過(guò)，我現(xiàn)在沒(méi)有太多精力去演戲，家里有一個(gè)一歲的還有一個(gè)三歲的倆娃娃“拖后腿”，讓我都忙不過(guò)來(lái)了。”妮可基德曼說(shuō)道。
