布魯（Jesse Eisenberg 配音）是一只世界上極其稀少的藍(lán)色金剛鸚鵡，當(dāng)他還是雛鳥時，便被可鄙的偷獵者從里約的熱帶叢林中擄到美國。陰差陽錯，他變成了小女孩琳達(dá)的寵物，從此相伴多年，如今的阿藍(lán)儼然一個養(yǎng)尊處優(yōu)的宅男，甚至到忘記了如何飛行。某天，名叫圖里奧（Rodrigo Santoro 配音）的鳥類學(xué)家經(jīng)過琳達(dá)（Leslie Mann 配音）經(jīng)營的書店，他被阿藍(lán)所震驚，并希望能將阿藍(lán)帶回里約，與世上僅存的另外一只雌鳥繁衍后代。
