This Day in History – On September 17th, 1978 - Camp David Agreements reached.
A visit to Jerusalem by Egyptian President Anwar Sadat in 1977 opened the door to [-----1-----] peace talks between Egypt and Israel. Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin reach their first accords at Camp David on September 17th, 1978, with [-----2-----] mediation from President Jimmy Carter. Six months later a peace treaty was signed at the White House, ending 30 years of [-----3-----] between Egypt and Israel. (Sadat in a speech) –“There will be no more war or bloodshed between Arabs and Israeli. There will be no more suffering or denial of rights.” [-----4-----], but Camp David was a [-----5-----] expression of peace.
