July 21, 1970 - Aswan High Dam is completed.


The Aswan High Dam was completed on July 21st, 1970, and [-----1-----] by Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Soviet President Podgorny six months later. Sadat's predessor Gamel Abdul Nassar, had [-----2-----] Soviet aid for the project through low interest loans and much technical assistance for more than 10 years.
