自我介紹
注意控制作答時(shí)間
在20秒的時(shí)間內(nèi),以正常語速講話大概可以說近40個(gè)單詞,或3~4句話。由于每個(gè)人語速不同,考前一定要多次練習(xí)并控制好時(shí)間,以免在考試時(shí)出現(xiàn)長時(shí)間空白或在規(guī)定的時(shí)間內(nèi)“說不完”。
注意聽考官的指令
正式考試時(shí),考官會(huì)向考生發(fā)出相應(yīng)的指令,考生在聽到指令后開始進(jìn)行自我介紹。有些考生可能會(huì)過度緊張,一直在背誦自己準(zhǔn)備的自我介紹而忽略了考官的指令,這一點(diǎn)尤其需要注意避免。
組織個(gè)性化的自我介紹
在自我介紹中,考生在陳述自己的姓名、學(xué)校、專業(yè)、年級(jí)、興趣愛好、性格特點(diǎn)等基本信息之外,也可以根據(jù)自身情況適當(dāng)發(fā)揮,形成有特色的自我介紹。請(qǐng)看下面的范例:
I'm Wang Jili (你的名字). You can call me Jili. I'm a sophomore (freshman, junior, senior) from Wuhan University (你的學(xué)校名). I major in International Politics (你的專業(yè)名). I love my major and I dream of becoming a diplomat (你的理想職業(yè)) in the future. I'm a lucky person and I hope I'll be lucky enough to pass this exam.
短文朗讀&簡短回答
充分利用準(zhǔn)備時(shí)間
在準(zhǔn)備階段,不要一看到短文就開始朗讀,而是要快速瀏覽全文,了解大意,為后面的回答問題作好準(zhǔn)備。同時(shí),要找出長句和陌生單詞,理清句子結(jié)構(gòu)并拼讀較難的單詞。
盡量記住短文內(nèi)容
簡短回答的第一個(gè)問題是關(guān)于短文內(nèi)容的。但回答問題時(shí),短文不會(huì)出現(xiàn)在屏幕上,所以在準(zhǔn)備階段和朗讀階段,要盡力看懂短文大意并記住時(shí)間、地點(diǎn)、原因等關(guān)鍵信息。
補(bǔ)充一些細(xì)節(jié)信息
簡短回答的第二個(gè)問題是拓展型的問題,答題時(shí)間是20秒,切忌只說一句話或幾個(gè)簡單的詞匯,應(yīng)注意補(bǔ)充細(xì)節(jié)。比如,如果問題是“你最喜歡哪個(gè)城市”,不要僅說I like Beijing best.,要用一兩句話補(bǔ)充喜歡的原因(風(fēng)景名勝多、文化氣息濃厚等)。
個(gè)人陳述
使用提綱組織內(nèi)容
在組織內(nèi)容時(shí),一定要學(xué)會(huì)使用提綱。如果是圖片題,可簡單描述內(nèi)容,然后適當(dāng)評(píng)論;如果是圖表題,可陳述主要數(shù)據(jù),然后得出結(jié)論;如果是文字題,可先用一句話概括主題,然后提供2~3個(gè)要點(diǎn),最后總結(jié)一下。
使用關(guān)鍵詞拓展內(nèi)容
在了解話題信息以后,考生可能一時(shí)想不出該說什么,那么可以根據(jù)“過去、現(xiàn)在、將來”“國內(nèi)、國外”“物質(zhì)、精神”等關(guān)鍵詞進(jìn)行聯(lián)想。比如話題是關(guān)于“破壞景區(qū)環(huán)境”的,考生可以根據(jù)關(guān)鍵詞想到以下內(nèi)容:
1. 過去、現(xiàn)在、將來
In the past, such a phenomenon was not very common (過去),but nowadays it seems to be on the increase. More and more people take pleasure in carving their names on trees or walls (現(xiàn)在). If this tendency is not curbed, the conditions for many tourist sites will go from bad to worse. They will become too ugly to be appreciated by most tourists (將來).
2. 國內(nèi)、國外
At most scenic spots and historical sites in China, a lot of words have been carved on trees or walls (國內(nèi)). However, if you go abroad on a tour, you may find that few foreigners have carved their names on trees or walls in scenic sites, not to mention historical sites (國外).
3. 物質(zhì)、精神
This kind of disgusting behavior surely does physical harm to the trees or the walls (物質(zhì)文明方面的傷害). What's worse, it indicates a decline in moral standards (精神文明方面的傷害).
使用過渡性詞句掩蓋猶豫
在實(shí)際的口語考試中,由于英文水平的限制或者心理緊張,一時(shí)語塞的現(xiàn)象時(shí)常發(fā)生。因此,在需要停頓思考時(shí)可使用well, you know, you see, I have to say, as we can see, let me think, let me see, that's a good question, all right等停頓語,巧妙地掩飾自己的語塞。
注意及時(shí)收尾
個(gè)人陳述題有規(guī)定的答題時(shí)間,考生需要時(shí)刻關(guān)注屏幕上的倒計(jì)時(shí)。若剩余時(shí)間充足,則可以利用同義重復(fù)、正反敘述、舉例說明等方法補(bǔ)充細(xì)節(jié);若剩余時(shí)間緊張(比如只剩10 秒鐘),則可以略去個(gè)別要點(diǎn),盡快總結(jié)收尾。
小組互動(dòng)
主動(dòng)詢問搭檔
當(dāng)自己的話輪結(jié)束時(shí),可以進(jìn)一步向搭檔提問,使對(duì)話按照自己熟悉的方向進(jìn)行;當(dāng)搭檔無話可說時(shí),也可引導(dǎo)搭檔回答與話題相關(guān)的問題,以免對(duì)話難以為繼。以下是一些常見的提問句型:
◎ What do you think about…?
◎ Do you agree with me on this point of view?
◎ So, this is what I'm thinking about… Do you agree with me or not?
◎ Perhaps you don't fully agree with what I have said. Could you let me know your point of view on this issue?
巧妙回應(yīng)搭檔
在小組互動(dòng)中,要積極回應(yīng)搭檔的看法和疑問,表示同意或不同意、喜歡或不喜歡等。回答搭檔的問題時(shí)也不要只給出Yes. / No. / I agree. / I don't agree. / I don't think so. / I think you are right.等簡單的肯定或否定,要進(jìn)一步解釋原因或者提出新的看法。
若搭檔提出的問題較難,一時(shí)想不到怎么回應(yīng)時(shí),不妨先說一句Oh, that's a good question. 以爭取一些思考的時(shí)間,再回答問題。也可以要求搭檔給出更多提示或者重復(fù)一下問題,切忌未聽懂問題就隨意作答。常見的要求澄清的句型有:
◎ Pardon? What did you say?
◎ Excuse me. I didn't quite catch what you said.
◎ I just don't get it. What do you mean by…?
◎ I don't see your point. Could you explain a bit?
適時(shí)提醒搭檔
若搭檔一直占據(jù)話輪,自己沒有說話的機(jī)會(huì),那么就要禮貌地打斷對(duì)方,及時(shí)表達(dá)自己的觀點(diǎn),以免自己在任務(wù)中貢獻(xiàn)過少,影響得分。常用的打斷對(duì)方的句型有:
◎ Well, you certainly have a point there, but may I get a word in?
◎You are quite right, but please let me finish what I have got to say.
◎ It's very clever of you to think so, and I can provide details to support your idea.
◎ I'm sorry to interrupt you, but I've got something important to say.
