Electronic Arts is apparently looking to [w]capitalize[/w] on the success of the recent The Fast and the Furious films by shopping around for a film based on the publisher’s popular Need for Speed [w]franchise[/w]. According to a recent report from Variety, EA tasked producer John Gatins and writer George Gatins to come up with a pitch for a Need for Speed film to shop around Hollywood, and it looks like plenty of studios are interested–just about all major studios, in fact. The report says that Warner Bros., Sony and Paramount are all interested in snatching up the film rights for the Need for Speed franchise, with reported offers being in the low seven figure range.
