Carina 1979年出生于英國烏味罕普頓的低希爾地區(qū)的一個意大利家庭。生活貧苦，周圍的環(huán)境也很糟糕，對她來說唯一能作為營養(yǎng)補給的就是她媽媽收藏的一些專輯- Led Zeppelin，Nine Simone和Roxy Music....她祖父喜歡唱歌，使得在學(xué)校讀書的Carine也受到感染因而時常逃課在家，躲在衣櫥里，直到媽媽出去工作，然后一個人呆在家里聽音樂。聽著聽著她就會提高分貝聲嘶力竭的跟著唱機一起唱，這樣的行為引來鄰居和學(xué)校的極度不滿，可是她似乎毫不在乎。在她看來Physical graffiti才是教她應(yīng)該學(xué)什么的老師。
　　
??? 96年夏天，carina得到了一個機會能在伯明翰的一個地下音樂酒吧演出三個晚上，從此她便開始了自己的酒吧唱歌生涯。到99年時，她幾乎在英國所有酒吧演出過，并與David Gray，Miles Hunt，Ben Christophers，Mark Eitzel，Cousteau...等人合作。
　　
??? Carine與貝司手Simon Smith,鼓手Marous Galley組成樂隊。他們首次合作是在COLDPLAY伯明翰音樂節(jié)的演出上，而這次演出之后她便被制作人Gavin Monaghan發(fā)現(xiàn)并直接進(jìn)入錄音棚，短短的10天時間就完成了她的首張專輯。Carina以她天生陰冷嗓音和強烈的現(xiàn)場表現(xiàn)力出色的詮釋了這張專輯。
