滬江英語?Neko Case生于美國弗吉尼亞州，但她童年的大部分時(shí)光卻是在華盛頓度過。在15歲那年離開了父母，一個(gè)人出去打拼。三年之后，開始在多支朋克樂隊(duì)擔(dān)任鼓手。而到了1994年，又移居加拿大溫哥華，來到了一所藝術(shù)院校學(xué)習(xí)。直到1997年，才推出了自己的首張個(gè)人專輯《The Virginian》。那種血液里就有獨(dú)立精神的女歌手，當(dāng)然這跟她早年豐富的經(jīng)歷也是分不開的。
