1962年5月19日，距離美國總統(tǒng)肯尼迪四十五歲的生日還有十天，瑪麗蓮·夢露用性感的聲音為他唱了一首《總統(tǒng)先生，生日快樂》，夢露唱的是傳統(tǒng)版本的歌詞，只是用總統(tǒng)先生來指代肯尼迪的名字。夢露在當(dāng)年8月5日離開人世，這是她生前最后一次大型公開亮相，加上肯尼迪總統(tǒng)和夢露的婚外情傳言，這些都讓這首歌成了夢露的經(jīng)典之作。
