In the process, she ended up falling for him. They had an instant connection, and Elle didn't want to complete her mission because she saw that deep down Gabriel was a good person trying to fight his power, but they made her do it. He found out who she really was and she came to blame herself for his going to the dark side for good. They didn’t reunite until Sylar killed Elle’s father.

It seemed Blair was willing, but Chuck can’t seem to give up his old playboy ways and potentially will never change.

Throughout all their various relationships with other people, Lucas and Peyton have been there for one another every step of the way. With Lucas and Brooke’s long-lasting relationship, it was Peyton’s turn to feel the unrequited love. Finally, in season six, Peyton gets to marry the man who saved her life.
