Carrie Wells and Al Burns are brought in to help with a Major Crimes kidnapping case by Eliot Delson, Special Deputy to the Mayor of New York City.

Eliot briefs them on the case – a young girl named Lara Sonnenland was kidnapped by unknown assailants on her way to a local soccer game – and Carrie and Al get to work. They meet their new teammates, Jay, a detective and tech whiz, and Murray, a former FBI agent turned NYPD detective.
