NBC announced Friday (Aug. 23) that "True Blood" star Stephen Moyer would be joining the cast of the live holiday production of the classic musical "The Sound of Music."

Moyer will be filling Capt. Georg Von Trapp, single father to those seven adorable, motherless moppets.

The "True Blood" actor is no stranger to the stage. Just last month, he appeared in the Hollywood Bowl's production of the equally iconic musical "Chicago," playing Billy Flynn.
