Gossip Girl's final season will be just ten episodes long, it has been confirmed.?The show was renewed by the CW for a final shortened season, but it was not stated at the time whether the show would run for 10 or 13 episodes.

CW president Mark Pedowitz also suggested to TVLine that the show may conclude with a special retrospective episode.?"I'm a big believer in retrospectives and a big believer in allowing the audience to say farewell to their shows," Pedowitz said.?"It's important for us on this side of the fence to give a satisfactory ending."
