誰(shuí)是“黑天鵝”？

On the next episode of Pretty Little Liars (Season 3, Episode 4: “Birds of a Feather”), showrunner Marlene King has said that we will definitely find out the identity of the Black Swan from the Season 2 finale (Season 2, Episode 25: “UnmAsked”). We’ve spent some time theorizing on who that Size 2 brunette might be, but we think it’s time to round up the candidates in preparation for the big reveal.?

Melissa Hastings

Why she could be the Black Swan: In Season 3, Episode 3: “Kingdom of the Blind”, we finally learned that Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) has been lying about some details of her pregnancy. If our suspicions about Melissa’s entire pregnancy being a farce are true, then Melissa would fit the Black Swan profile perfectly. She’s a brunette, she’s thin, and we know that Melissa and Jenna (Tammin Sursok) have a past connection because we saw them together in Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) room the night Ali was killed. Also, Troian Bellisario (Spencer) has said that the Black Swan’s identity is “too close to home” for Spencer.

Why she couldn’t be the Black Swan: There is still the possibility that Melissa was pregnant at the time of the Masquerade Ball. If Melissa simply lied about the timeline of losing her baby (which we doubt), then she couldn’t have fit into that costume. Also, why would Melissa be talking to Lucas (Brendan Robinson)? They have no connection that we know of.

Why she could be the Black Swan: The only real reason fans think Hanna’s mom might be the Black Swan is the physical resemblance. They’re both thin and have a similar mouth. Also, we know Ashley (Laura Leighton) has some skeletons in her closet, namely her money-stealing issues and her hinted-at sexual promiscuity.

Why she couldn’t be the Black Swan. For some reason we just can’t see Ashley cavorting around with teenagers and Mona (Janel Parrish) in order to torture her own daughter.

Why she could be the Black Swan: If we follow the logic of the books, then Alison’s twin Courtney is the one who was murdered by Alison. That would mean that Alison is still around, lurking in Rosewood. If that’s true, then we could see Mona, Jenna, and Lucas, all victims of Courtney’s cruelty, teaming up with Alison to get back at Courtney’s friends (the Little Liars).

Why she couldn’t be the Black Swan: Technically, Alison is supposed to be dead. So there’s that. Also, even if Alison is still hanging around, we doubt she’d take such a huge risk by appearing in a costume at the Masquerade Ball in Rosewood, surrounded by everyone who knows her.

Why she could be the Black Swan: All three of the above possibilities are pretty out there. Unless we’re about to have our minds blown (which we’re really hoping for!), then it’s possible that the Black Swan is an as-yet-unknown character who we’re about to meet. She could have been working with Mona all along, hanging out in that “A” lair and sporting hoodies around town.

Why she couldn’t be the Black Swan: In a way, we would feel a little cheated if the Black Swan turned out to be a brand new character. We have enough brunettes to keep track of already, many of whom — Jenna, Melissa — we still need back stories for. Plus, the Black Swan clearly knew the Little Liars since she ran away from them. Why would someone they don’t even know hate them so much?
