take：accept or undergo, often unwillingly，這里表示不樂意的接受，甚至忍受的意思。比如：
1. As he was hard up he had to take this job.
由于手頭兒緊，他不得不接受這份工作。
2. The responder has just two choices: take what is offered or receive nothing.
回答者只有兩個選擇：接受提議，或一分錢都拿不到。

no offense

no offense：無意冒犯，請勿見怪。是老外在表達自己的真實想法（尤其是對方可能不容易接受、認同的）前十分常用的一個短語：
1. No offense, but your car is a real clunker!
無意冒犯，不過你的車真是又老又舊！
2. Well, no offense, you either let me through or you get me your supervisor.
恕我冒犯，要么你讓我過去要么你叫你們長官過來。
3. How come people always say "No offense" right before they offend you?

delicate：棘手，難處理的
例：
1. If they handle this delicate management task, they could well deserve a promotion.

stand in way：阻攔，阻擋
