What's Time to a Pig?

時(shí)間對(duì)豬有什么意義？

One day, a visitor from the city came to a small rural area to drive around the country roads, see how the farms looked, and perhaps to see how farmers earned their living. The city man saw a farmer in his yard, holding a pig up in his hands, and lifting it so that the pig could eat apples from an apple tree. The city man said to the farmer, "I see that your pig likes apples, but isn't that quite a waste of time?" The farmer replied, 'What's time to a pig?"

一天，一個(gè)城市里的游客來(lái)到一個(gè)小鄉(xiāng)村，在鄉(xiāng)間路上開(kāi)著車，想看看農(nóng)莊是什么樣子，種田農(nóng)夫怎樣過(guò)日子。這位城里人看見(jiàn)一位農(nóng)夫在庭院里，手中抱著一頭豬，并把它舉得高高的，好讓它能夠吃到樹(shù)上的蘋(píng)果。城里人對(duì)農(nóng)夫說(shuō)：“我知道你的豬挺喜歡吃蘋(píng)果的，但是這不是很浪費(fèi)時(shí)間嗎？‘那位農(nóng)夫回答說(shuō)：“時(shí)間對(duì)豬有什么意義？”

Buy a Parrot

傳教士買(mǎi)鸚鵡

A preacher is buying a parrot.

一個(gè)傳教士在買(mǎi)鸚鵡。

"Are you sure it doesn't scream, yell, or swear?" asked the preacher.

“你確信它不會(huì)尖叫、大叫或詛咒別人嗎？”傳教士問(wèn)。

"Oh, absolutely. It's a religious parrot." The storekeeper assures him.

“哦，絕對(duì)不會(huì)。它是一只虔誠(chéng)的鸚鵡?！钡曛鞅ＷC說(shuō)。

"Do you see those strings on his legs? When you pull on the right one, he recites the lord's prayer, and when you pull on the left he recites the 23rd Psalm."

“你看見(jiàn)它腿上的細(xì)繩了嗎？當(dāng)你拉動(dòng)右邊的這根，它會(huì)背誦天主經(jīng)，當(dāng)你拉動(dòng)左邊的那根，它會(huì)背誦贊美詩(shī)?！?/div>

"Wonderful!" says the preacher, "but what happens if you pull on both strings?"

“太棒了！”傳教士說(shuō)?！暗侨绻彝瑫r(shí)拉動(dòng)兩根繩子，會(huì)發(fā)生什么呢？”

"I fall off my perch, you stupid fool!" screeched the parrot.

“我會(huì)從架子上掉下來(lái)的，你這個(gè)笨蛋！”鸚鵡尖聲道。
