WORDS & EXPRESSIONS

1.
Blair: The only thing he's gonna need support for is the massive influx into his bank account.

influx: a mass arrival or incoming

2.
Jenny: Hey, Eric! Okay, guess what? Jonathan and I decided that tonight we are gonna have an Edith Head film festival.
Jonathan: She says Edith Head, I say Hitchcock. Same difference.
Eric: Great. Count me in.

Edith Head(October 28, 1897 – October 24, 1981) was an American costume designer who had a long career in Hollywood that garnered eight Academy Awards—more than any other woman in history.
Count me in: 算我一個(gè),算上我

3.
Serena: Dan, hey.
Dan: Sorry, I'm a little out of it.
Serena: Look, I know you've been avoiding me, but my mom called from Boston this morning, and I asked her point blank. You have nothing to worry about.

I'm a little out of it: 我有點(diǎn)走神,心不在焉
point blank: 1. right here, right now, in your face and/or in your ear. Used when someone is trying to prove a point. 直截了當(dāng) e.g. She gave him a point blank refusal. 2. the closest distance between anything that's good and bad. 近距離 e.g. He shot her at a point blank range.

4.
Nelly: We should at least tell Blair.
Isabel: We can't. Blair's with chuck again.
Penelope: I'm really getting sick of how much time she's spending with him.
Isabel: But his dad just died.
Penelope: Yeah, like a month ago. Afraid we're on our own for this one, ladies.

we're on our own: 這次我們只能靠自己了,還有個(gè)詞組act alone跟它很像,表示單獨(dú)行動(dòng)。

5.
Serena: Are you sure this is the best time for a flare-up of chuck fever?
Blair: I'm having no such thing. We're just friends.

I’m having no such thing: 才沒有呢

6.
Vanessa: Okay, enough. You've been walking around for days with a storm cloud over your head. What is going on? It's annoying.
Dan: I really can't talk about it.
Vanessa: Dan, clearly something's up. So let me help you.

with a storm cloud over your head: 愁容滿面
clearly something’s up: 明顯有事情,注意這個(gè)up的用法很簡(jiǎn)潔

7.
Vanessa: You know who I am?
Girl: Please. Dating Nate Archibald after striking out with Dan Humphrey? Talk about failing upwards.
