Vanity Fair: 《名利場》雜志（），講很多名流的八卦。這里喻指把這兩個(gè)冤家位置分開，讓那些名流們坐在他們中間。
catfight: two women fighting
catwalk: T臺(tái)

It seems that Dartmouth's whole English department was poached by Yale.
poach: 這里是to steal. 作為名詞，還可以解釋為“水煮荷包蛋”。
順便補(bǔ)充幾個(gè)早餐里蛋類的講法，很多酒店的早餐buffet都有專人負(fù)責(zé)煎蛋，你可以根據(jù)自己的喜好告訴他你需要什么樣的做法：
scrambled egg 炒蛋（和中餐的炒蛋不一樣，里面通常會(huì)放cheese一起炒，鹽和胡椒也需要自己另外加）
omelet 煎蛋卷（就是把煎蛋卷起來，里面包火腿、洋蔥、青椒、香菇等）
fired egg, sunny side up荷包蛋(只煎一面)
fried egg, over easy荷包蛋(兩面都煎)

shoulder: 我們中國人說的“肩負(fù)重任”，英文就是shoulder the workload

最近我們關(guān)系緊張，可以用Things are already tense between us這個(gè)短語。

You know that jenny's working with your mom tonight. I also know that you don't have my daughter's best interests at heart.
你并不是真的關(guān)心我女兒的事情。注意紅色部分的表述，作為一個(gè)non native speaker, 我們比較少會(huì)想到用這樣的表述。
