北京奧組委開閉幕式工作部部長張和平說，在開幕式文藝表演的結(jié)尾部分，也就是《夢想》表演段落里，將首次公開演唱開幕式主題歌。這首主題歌是從奧組委歷時五年、舉辦了四屆的奧運歌曲征集評選活動中脫穎而出，并經(jīng)專門的評審程序確定的。為尊重大家對神秘的期待，今天仍然不公布這首主題歌的相關(guān)信息。但可以公布的是：主題歌長度為三分多鐘，演唱者是中國著名歌手劉歡和英國著名歌手莎拉·布萊曼。
莎拉．布萊曼（Sarah Brightman）1960年8月14日出生于英國倫敦，3歲開始習(xí)舞，10年后首度參與戲劇演出，處女作是查爾斯．史卓斯（Charles Strouse）的作品"I and Albert"。1976年，布萊曼首度在電視螢?zāi)簧掀毓?，在影?Pan's People"里面擔(dān)任舞者，之后又擔(dān)任流行樂團Hot Gossip的主唱；1978年，Hot Gossip的作品"I Lost My Heart to a Satrship Trooper"還登上英國流行排行榜第一名。莎拉布萊曼獨具個人特色，她充滿熱情的創(chuàng)意構(gòu)思以及舉世無雙的天籟，被譽為"月光女神"。
